When Jean Desrosiers and Karine Cantin decided to start their own business and open Auberge Le Sunshine in Stanstead, they needed financing but were looking for a more holistic approach than what is offered with traditional financing. “The team liked our idea and we connected immediately”, says Jean. Jean had heard about the organization and contacted us before opening in 2018.
The CAE Memphremagog team found the idea of an inn with a walk-in coffee shop and small shop appealing, and they offered financing to the couple for the startup phase. In Jean’s own words “We got much more than a loan.

Over the past few years, Auberge Le Sunshine obtained new loans from CAE Memphremagog for various projects (expansion, new pizza oven, etc.) and has called on the CAE Memphremagog team for HR advice, suggestions, and resources.
“What makes things easy with the CAE Memphremagog team is that they know us very well”, says Jean. In other organizations, employee turnover often results in our account being frequently passed on to new people, and we have to start over building the relationship. We have been doing business with the same advisor for 10 years at CAE Memphremagog!”
Auberge Le Sunshine has been in steady growth over the years. They still call CAE Memphremagog’s expertise and objective point of view, but above all, it is their human approach that sets them apart.

Auberge Le Sunshine boasts a four-room inn, a café-bistro, and a local products boutique that also offers locally made baked goods.
